Prepared Not Scared

So lately I’ve been on a huge emergency preparedness/food storage kick. I just feel such a sense of urgency that I’ve got to get ready! And now that we have an AWESOME food storage closet/room in our home, it’s so perfect, there’s just NO excuse!
When I was still pregnant with my Mister our fire alarms randomly went off at 3am in the morning, in two separate places throughout our house. They aren’t connected and there was no fire or anything, so it really creeped me out pretty good.
Then a little while later I had an extremely vivid dream (as are common with pregnancy so I’m told), there was a natural disaster, and I was holding PJ saying “We’re not ready!” I woke up in a cold sweat really shaken up. So I know that I need to get ready. We’ve been told for years to get ready for an emergency and get our food storage together. So it’s time!
I was reading tons of blogs on emergency preparedness and I was starting to feel more and more freaked out, and then it occurred to me, perhaps I’m so scared because I’m not ready. But with time, hopefully I will be prepared and not scared. Here’s hoping that this will be sooner not later! If any of you have an tips…please share them! :)

The last couple weeks, I've felt the need to crack down on that stuff too. I got our 72 hour kit pretty much finished. It's amazing how much better you feel after getting something like that out of the way. I would LOVE to know what food storage blogs you were looking at. I've also had natural disaster dreams…crazy!
