Weight-Loss Wednesdays

I admit…it’s not Wednesday…
But I REALLY want to stick to a schedule so you just might get two posts in one day…maybe! :)
I decided to devote my Wednesday posts to my weight loss adventure. For those of you who are new to my blog you can read a little bit about my story here.
My weight has ALWAYS been an issue. Lately there have been a lot of wake up calls and it truly is time to get my act together. I’m part of a family weight loss challenge which I am super excited about and it has really helped me keep my head on straight. The entire challenge came about due to an opportunity that I had to turn down.
My OB/GYN Dr. Wayne Young is incredible! When I went in for my six week appointment I knew a discussion about my weight potentially would happen. I had lost about 13 pounds since I had Baby Sis so he said that I’m doing a great job on my own, but he wanted to invite me to join a study he was doing called C2I.
C2I stands for Couch to Iron. Have you ever heard of the Couch to 5K program? It’s like that but to train for a half ironman! I was STOKED!!! I’d be a part of a weight loss team, we’d work out together 6 days a week from 2 to 4 hours and literally exercise out butts off! After weeks of crunching numbers I realized that it was just not feasible. I was devastated. I felt like that was my last chance to make the change.
But then a fire was lit inside of me. I CAN do it. Why not make the commitment myself?! Sure I won’t train for a half ironman…BUT I will train for a half marathon! Next August I will run my first half marathon and my goal is to be 100 pounds thinner!
My mom has been wanting to do a family weight loss type of group for years, so she brought the idea up to me and we’ve decided to run with it literally! :) Have I mentioned that I’m excited?!
I will weight in every Sunday (that’s our team weigh in day) and then the following Wednesday I will post my new weight. I decided to track my weight in a fun way too! All over pinterest I’ve seen these. I’m pretty sure this girl is the original one who decided to do it this way. I LOVED the idea of doing that for my next baby (YEARS from now)…but truth be told I only took one pregnant belly picture for my last two pregnancies…why you ask? Because I was ashamed of my weight…but I wanted my little ones to at least have one picture of when they were in mommies tummy.
SO I decided to make a chalkboard early! Instead of marking my weight gain as a pregnant momma…I’m marking my weight loss!
So please come and support me on my journey! I’m 21 pounds down and my goal is to lose 100 in a year (Baby Sis’ first birthday)!
I look super happy to be there don’t I?! :)
( I really need to check myself with the exclamation points don’t I? I promise I’m not yelling at you!00ps)

You are so awesome!!! I love seeing real life people do this, not just on biggest loser. I know its hard work but isn't it fun to watch the scale go down every week! (Once you get used to using exclamation points, I read my sentences with a period in a boring voice, so I understand exclamation points.)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am so excited that you are starting this challenge and will be rooting for you. You've found a new follower! :)

  4. Wow! I want to give you the BIGGEST pat on the back for being so vulnerable. What a brave thing to do, putting yourself out there like this must be the hardest step in your adventure, you are accountable now. I don't know you but I am so proud of you. Pulling for you, can't wait to follow you on your journey. Lots of luck!!!

You can do this. Not an easy challenge, but you can do it. I am dieting myself and have 0 support system, which suck, surround yourself with people that will support you, that will make this so much easier. I have taken to doing the Wii Fit board, it is helping slowly and the workout doesn’t kill me.

Good luck and I will be back to read your blog. :)
