T-Shirt Baby Sandals

I know that I promised this tutorial when I published my t-shirt cape tutorial so I wanted to share it with all of you! Have you guys seen these cute sandals everywhere?!
I thought they were adorable, but I didn’t want to spend upwards of 12 bucks for a pair, so I was determined to make my own!
Now you can too! :)
Supplies:
Leftover T-Shirt Materials (I used the sleeves)
Scissors
Needle
Thread that matches your shirt…I used a light color to show you my stitches
  1. You are going to start out by cutting off the seam of the sleeve material and set them aside.
2. Cut 3-4 one inch strips of your t-shirt material.
3. Stretch out your material to make t-shirt yarn by pulling on each end of your strip. Don’t pull too hard because you might break your strip. The edges will roll in on themselves and that’s what you want.
4. Measure around your little ones foot. I accidentally measure around the whole thing and the sandals ended up too big. I would measure how I did in the above picture but then take off about 1/4-1/2 an inch. Otherwise your little one might need to grow into your sandals. You will need six of these strips. 3 per shoe.
5. Cut two oval shapes of the same size from your t-shirt material.
6. Attach 3 strips to one side of your oval. You will need to leave a little space on between 2 of your strips (please see the above picture).
7. Then you will loop your strips around to the other side of your oval and attach them, leaving a space between the same strips as on the other side. That is the strip that will hook onto the heel of your little ones foot.
8. For the rosette you take your seam and tie a knot at one end. Then you roll the rest of the strip around the knot. You can either hot glue as you go, or I like to sew it in place as I wrap my strip around the knot. Just keep going until you have your desired rosette size.
9. For the petals, I folded my remaining material in half and cut a scallop pattern. In hindsight I think I would have liked more scallops since they ended up being the petals, so I would probably cut more of them instead of 2 big ones which created 4 petals.
10. Start a running stitch on the straight edge of your material, kind of like a ruffle. 11. Once you have ruffled your entire scalloped strip attach it to the bottom of your rosette. Continue to wrap it around your rosette attaching it as you go.
12. Attach your flower to the base of your sandal/the top of the oval by adding stitches under the rosette but on top of the petals (see the above picture).
You’re all finished! Put them on your little one and take some pictures! :)
