Natural History Museum of Utah-Win Tickets/GIVEAWAY!!

Guys! I am seriously so excited to tell you about an AMAZING museum here in Utah! I have never been more impressed by a museum and how much it caters to little kids than I have than with the Natural History Museum of Utah! It was amazing!
I was invited to go for a tour and lunch sponsored by the museum with a small group of local bloggers.
It was actually catered to our preschool aged kiddos!
How cool is that?! I’m so excited to share with you a little bit about the fun we experienced and that it is something that YOU can experience too!

Right when you walk in and present your tickets there is a huge glass wall filled with fossils and artifacts of all kinds from different time periods. It was SO cool! PJ kept looking at it!
I thought it was so cute that my dad was able to play with him and show him all of the neat stuff while I was on camera duty. PJ absolutely LOVES ducks!

The first thing we did after a brief introduction was head to one of the many rooms in the museum that they have set aside for kids to go in and learn or experiment. PJ got to see one of the awesome animals in one of the programs they hold the first and third Saturday of every month from 2-3pm called “Utah’s Animals.”

He looked like such a big boy sitting with all of the other kids and listening. I think he felt like a big boy too! It was so cute to watch! After his introduction, the nice animal guy (I forgot his name…sorry) took out his ginormous frog! Look at how well his was sitting and listening! It was so fun and he really catered to the kids and kept them engaged! They have areas all throughout the museum where the kids can stop and play and interact.
The one below was a cell membrane where they could see all the different parts of a cell and put it together like a giant puzzle!
This picture was one of my favorite places that they had for kids and it was one of PJ’s as well! I LOVED that the kids could jump right into a dig site and make discoveries of their own! Doesn’t it look so fun?!
PJ was even able to make his own discovery, and underneath it has a story that the parent could then read to the kids about what it was that may have been there.

They had an awesome place where you could watch real paleontologists look at fossils and had volunteers removing the casting of the fossils. That is seriously so cool to watch! The had demonstrations showing the kids what it was like to drill and dig hundreds and thousands of years ago.
And THEN they let the little ones try it for themselves. I LOVED THAT! I’m sure PJ did too!
We were able to attend their Chickadee Society. Which is an interactive program for pre-school chidren held the 4th Thursday of every month from 10:20-11 am.
They read a fun story about bugs. And THEN they let the little ones get upclose and personal and even touch the bug!
What I think was the coolest part of where the Chickadee society is held is that they have a fun area with water that makes a mini river and the kids could put fish and bugs in there to watch them go downstream and they could try and catch them with little nets. It was so cute to watch him interact with other kids there!
In the same area they had costumes to dress up in, a little rock area to climb around through and a place for the parents to sit down while their little ones listen to stories and play. Pop was able to sit and play with sis while I got to play with PJ.
To close up our tour we got to go and look at the dinosaurs!
They had a lady set up with a little display and the kids were able to get up close and personal with some real fossils! She even let PJ hold one! I think he felt like the coolest kid in the world holding a real fossil!
Then PJ got to do his most favorite thing EVER…he got to DIG! He LOVES digging and he was in heaven when we learned that he would be able to dig up his own dino fossils inside the museum.
AND outside the museum! The outside one was a HUGE dino!
After our fun dinosaur dig, we were treated to a delicious lunch where we were able to choose any items we wanted from their little cafe/bistro/concessions/food place and holy crow was it good! We’re talking good! And they had an awesome variety. I LOVE that.
To finish off an already amazing day…they hooked us up with some NHMU Swag. I love swag!
Do you see that envelope? Well inside of it is 4 tickets for you! That’s right! They gave me 4 tickets to giveaway to my readers. I could choose to divvy them up how I would like. So instead of having only 1 winner…we are going to have 2 and each winner will receive TWO tickets to the Natural History Museum of Utah! To enter just follow the prompts in the rafflecopter giveaway box below!

Funny story about the rocks. I thought they were decorative rocks and PJ is OBSESSED with rocks. So I told him he could only have one and that he needed to hold it tight so he wouldn’t lose it. I gave him one to hold and I started reading the box and I realized it was candy! So I told him he could eat it. The poor guy looked at me like I was NUTS! I said it was OK and so he popped it in his mouth lightning fast! I think he was trying to do it so fast to make sure I didn’t change my mind. He is so funny!

So giveaway rules. Open to US residents only. I’d say open to Utah residents only, but some of you may be planning a trip to UT soon so I don’t want you to miss out. So here’s the deal, please ONLY ENTER THE GIVEAWAY IF YOU’LL ACTUALLY END UP USING THE TICKETS. I would hate for somebody to miss out on this fun activity.

Thank you so much for visiting! Sorry about the picture heavy post, I just had such an amazing time, I had to share it with you guys! If you’d like to see a list and schedule of all of their fun events for families you can click here! I absolutely LOVE this place!

As a disclaimer, we did get to attend the museum with our little ones for free and we did get the swag and tickets for free too, but my opinion is totally one hundred percent my own!
