Happy New Year Friends!
I seriously can’t believe how quickly 2012 flew by! I am so very grateful for the amazing year that I’ve had. There have been some trials and growing pains, but there have also been some amazing moments and memories that I will forever be grateful for!
I LOVE having a word for the year. My word for last year was “BELIEVE” and I have decided that my word for 2013 is going to be:
Yep! Simplify! I found that towards the end of 2012 I was trying to take on too many projects, wear too many hats and be too many different things! This year I am giving myself permission and the challenge to SIMPLIFY.
I am so looking forward to building our new home! Oh that’s right I haven’t told you guys yet! We are officially building a new home! Want to see what it will look like on the outside? Here it is!
I absolutely adore it! I love the inside even more! We are so excited and under contract so the ball is definitely rolling! I have to admit, I spent the new year packing up some boxes and watching Army Wives. I felt like it was the perfect way to spend it. My sweet family was all asleep so I decided that I could pack up some things that I knew we wouldn’t need for several months. It was almost symbolic, I was packing up the old getting ready for the new.
I even found some awesome keepsakes, old letters and heirlooms that I have been looking for! I also found that I don’t need to hang onto EVERY.SINGLE.THING. I am going to Simplify in every aspect of my life! Especially in packing! 
I am so looking forward to 2013 and what the year will bring. It is going to be such an exciting year.
You guys can look forward to home decor posts/tutorials, lots of updates on how the house building process is going, and other fun things in between! I will be getting back into a blogging schedule so you’ll be hearing from me a lot more and in return, I hope to hear from you too!

My word for 2013 is Create. Create memories, create an atmosphere that supports growth and learning, etc. I am excited for 2013 and excited to see more posts from you!
That is an excellent word for 2013! I’ll definitely be posting more. I’m totally thinking about my post for the Blog Your Way to Disney Challenge! I’m excited! I think I will do a tips type of post for cruising with little ones on a Disney Cruise.
Oh that is funny! My word for 2013 was simplify then I “simplified” it to just be simple. ha,ha Congrats on your new home! That’s wonderful.:)

This morning as I showered I had a moment of panic “Oh my gosh! I still haven’t painted Olivia’s crib so its not going to match her changing table! When will I have time for that???” And funny, the word simplify came to my mind. I think it means I’m going to give up my design blog for a while (until we start building our new house this year! And then posts will come more naturally) and focus on my “crazy” blog, opening my etsy shop and being a mom to two babies. I don’t know if its my word for the year, or what my word would be, but its something I really need to focus on at least for the next few months!
I have been sitting at home all day thinking about goals for the year and your word: simplify kept going over and over in my head! Then I sit down and see your post. It must be a sign for me!

I love that word. If only I could get myself I actually live it! I totally know what you mean when you say you tried to wear too many hats. It’s hard as a mom to remind ourselves that we can’t so everything and be everywhere at once, and we may just need to say no.
